Karl R. Nordquist is engaged in a legal counseling practice covering a wide range of interests in the energy field involving domestic onshore and offshore Gulf of Mexico and international energy transactions. Mr. Nordquist is a certified specialist in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Mr. Nordquist has also served as counsel to banks and financial institutions.

Mr. Nordquist has represented clients in:

·         negotiation and drafting of exploration and production contracts, including joint operating, exploration, participation, seismic, facility use, and production handling agreements, drilling contracts, farmouts, and various commercial contracts for use in the upstream energy area

·         negotiation and drafting of midstream contracts including crude oil and production sales, marketing, transportation, processing and storage agreements

·         negotiation and drafting of purchase and sale contracts, acquisitions and divestitures of energy assets, and preparation of title opinions

·         joint ventures and strategic alliances

·         operating agreement, oil and gas lessor, lessee, operator, landowner and royalty issues
